Flit and Flutter

Macklan and Briley had fun flitting and fluttering at the 1st Annual Oak Grove Tourism Butterfly Festival. My sister Kristen and I decided to take the kiddos for a day out at the War Memorial Walking Trail Park in Oak Grove, Kentucky. The Viceroys, Kentucky's State Butterfly, were the guests of honor. These beautiful butterflies were at home on the flowers in the viewing tent and the inspiration for all the arts and crafts. Wendy Whitten 'The Singing Scientist' and Flumpa the famous tree frog performed live several times throughout the afternoon. The kids also enjoyed a dog show, train ride, and pony ride.

Under the Weather

Macklan spent a week feeling under the weather. Just lying around, I caught this sweet face snuggled up close to his puppy.

Bowling Green Hot Rods

We really enjoyed our first Hot Rods baseball game and regret that we waited to go so late in the season. It's definitely something that we plan to do more of in the future. Invited by our friends Shane and Cheri, we went to celebrate their son Cole's birthday. What a great place for a baseball fan to celebrate! Cole was honored by throwing out the first pitch of the game as well as being sung to by all the spectators while on the big screen. Macklan loved the exciting atmosphere of the game and ate up the attention that all the big boys gave him! We enjoyed hotdogs and cake, playing catch on the grassy bank, and letting Macklan choose a soveneir bat and ball from The Body Shop. We can't wait for the next season of Hot Rods baseball.
