A Box & a Gator

Whether it's something easy to come by and inexpensive like this cardboard box,

or something as grande and pricey as this John Deere Gator...

these two are bound to have fun together...whether in a box or a gator!

Hudson...Meet Mr. Diddle!!!

On this beautiful spring day, we took Hudson to WKU's campus and snapped his first picture by the E.A. Diddle statue just as we have been doing with Macklan for three years now.

And you might remember this Little Hilltopper from his early visits to Mr. Diddle...

Oh, how he's grown!

Champion

Have you ever entered a contest where you hoped to win, but realistically thought, "I could never be so lucky,"? Well recently, we entered a Funny Photo Contest hosted by Champion Ford in Owensboro and I thought exactly that! It was advertised on their Facebook page and the guidelines/rules were really simple. Send Champion a funny photo and get the most "likes" by April 1st in order to win an iPad 2. So Scott and I recruited all our Facebook friends to vote for Macklan's funny photo which was quickly known as "Pants Down Baby". We were way behind the leaders when we entered the contest, but surprisingly we gained ground fast! When the announcement was made at 5:00 PM on April 1st, we were beyond excited:

1st Place...Macklan's photo...318 votes

2nd Place...235 votes

3rd Place...212 votes

Macklan presented a copy of his winning photo to Champion Ford.

Receiving the iPad 2 from Champion Ford

Macklan was so excited (not quite as much as his Daddy though)!

Thanks to all our friends and family who voted!

Puzzle Master

Macklan has gotten into a lot of cool and fun learning activities lately like letters and numbers, patterns, and PUZZLES! He worked his first 24 pc. puzzle independently and was so proud. He instructed me to take his picture and tell 100 of my friends about his beau-ti-ful Dora puzzle. So I did as I was told! Well, I took the picture anyway.

So proud of my puzzle master... :)

New Name

Macklan has been very interested in writing "words" lately. Today as he was writing and doodling on his chalkboard, he turned it toward me and matter of factly said, "Mommy, this is your new name."

"Oh, it is?" I questioned wondering what he would say next.

"F-E-M...what's that spell Mommy?"

"Fem," I said.

"Fem. Well, that's your new name!"

BROTHERS

You are my PAL,
my BUDDY,
and my best FRIEND too!!!

Meet Little Brother. Hudson Franklin. 10 weeks old.

Meet Big Brother. Macklan Scott. 3 years old.

Meet two brothers who simply adore one another...

Letting Go...

Today I was challenged to let go a little...and my OCD tendencies were hard to suppress!

Because normally a stack of washclothes like this...

would've sent me into fits causing me to refold every single one of them!

But today as I was folding towels...
Macklan graciously offered to fold the washclothes!

And he did a fine job! I think I'll always accept his help. It was good for both of us!!!

*No, I did not refold these! I put them away with a smile on my face.

Bowling Basics

1. Start by approaching the line to the lane and then with all your might, release the ball.

2. Watch in anticipation as the bowl rolls toward the pins.

3. Jump up and down to help knock down any wobbling pins!

4. Do your celebration dance!!!

Feeling a Little Green?

We were on St. Patrick's Day!

I'm just crazy about these two! I could eat them up with a spoon. Aren't they cute in their green and brown bear shirts...

Don't Spill the BEANS...

Some days you just have to find something new, creative, innovative...
to keep a 3 year old busy!

Some plastic bowls and containers,

a ladle and measuring spoons,
and a bag full of beans!

You would've thought I bought him the newest, most grand toy on the market!

He poured, scooped, counted, separated, and "cooked" for at least an hour.

This here is the "Bean Cooker Man" himself!

*That's how he referred to himself while playing. I thought it was so cute!

Let the Boys Be Boys!

These two boys...
are alike in more ways than one!

Since our firstborn sons entered the world 3 1/2 years ago, Brittany and I have been in awe of their similarities. We even jokingly say they were separated at birth! From their looks, their personalities, and their interests, Macklan and Layton are mirror images of one another.

That makes it so much fun to watch them interact through play and talk.

During this playdate, they enjoyed a friendly game of Zingo (Macklan's new favorite game...thanks Layton!) and a snack of apple juice and Teddy Grahams.

To make things even more ironic when it comes to our children...

we had our second born sons...

one born January 11, 2010...and the other...January 11, 2011...

both with dark hair and big brown eyes...

both in love with their big brothers!

I can't wait to see what other similarities Luke and Hudson will share. I'm guessing there will be many to note!

While trying to get a cute picture of all four boys, Brittany and I had to face the facts...

let the boys be boys!
The big boys enjoyed shooting hoops and hanging out in the playroom, while the little boys napped and snuggled with their Mommies! Let it be known that the Mommies had just as much fun as the boys!

There were also lots of laughs and good conversations.

This fun morning ended with lunch at Chick-fil-A, a little more playtime, and hugs all around as we parted from our precious friends!
