Spreading a Little LOVE

It's always time to spread a little love...

but we make an extra special effort on Valentine's Day!

Even though Macklan isn't in school yet, he has enjoyed making a Valentine's box for the past two years. He is becoming very independent, so this year he picked out all the decorations for his box at Hobby Lobby. Since blue is his favorite color, there was no stopping him from painting his box a beautiful blue. He did an awesome job and the box looked great! This year he picked out Handy Manny valentines; he put all his special valentines in the box and delivered them to family and friends.

We had a Sweetheart Banquet at our church for couples which consisted of a prime rib dinner, devotion, and the "Not-so-Newlywed" Game. Macklan stayed in the nursery with the youth girls, and Hudson stayed with us although he slept the entire time. Scott and I had a great time eating a delicious meal, talking with friends, and proving how well we know each other!

January 2011

There are two things that without a doubt come to mind when I reflect on January 2011...

1. Hudson's Birth
2. Snowy Days

We have enjoyed a lot of snowy days this month. Sometimes the snow would fall as just a light dusting, and other times it would pile up to 8 inches! The snow days have been a blessing by providing Scott and me time at home while Hudson is a newborn and by providing some fun outdoors for Macklan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

CHRISTmas Day

S.A.N.T.A. came...

and brought these awesome gifts for an awesome little boy!

Puppy tent, Uno Moo, Mickey and Friends, Radio Flyer wheelbarrow, lab puppies, NERF guns, Finding Nemo Leapster game, cars and trucks, Caterpillar Scramble, and blocks

But this little boy wasn't even aware...he was sound asleep and had to be woken up by his anxiously excited (you could call it "impatient") parents!

 

 

First stop...the final door on the Christmas house...door 25!

So excited about each gift. He would sit and check out one thing at a time, soaking it all in.

Santa listened...he brought Caterpillar Scramble!!!

not forgetting to check in his stocking...

After settling down from all the excitement caused by Santa, Macklan opened gifts from Mommy and Daddy.

 

It didn't take Macklan long to catch on to the clothing boxes. He reached a point where he wouldn't even open the box. He would just carry it over to me and sit it down. 

He went inside his tent to open this gift.

and later...he took his nap in his new tent!

 

Santa's not the only one who came.

Jesus came to save the world.

That's what CHRISTmas is all about!
